Bosch Kiox 300: Come Sbloccare la Velocità (Smart System 2026)

Bosch Kiox 300: How to Unlock the Speed (Smart System 2026)

Do you have a Bosch eBike with the Kiox 300 colour display and want to go beyond 25 km/h? The Kiox 300 is part of the Bosch Smart System (BES3), the most recent generation. In this 2026 guide you will find out what it is, how to recognise your system and how to configure the speed with the dedicated code.

What the Bosch Kiox 300 is

The Kiox 300 is the compact colour display of the Bosch Smart System, introduced in 2022. You can recognise it by three signs:

  • Colour display mounted in the centre of the handlebar, often with a separate control unit
  • Oval 2-pin magnetic charging port (not the old round port)
  • Management and updates through the Bosch Flow app

If your eBike has these features, you have a BES3 system and you need the dedicated code, not the one for older systems.

Why the Kiox 300 needs a different code

With the Smart System, Bosch changed the architecture: a more closed system, app-based control and new connectors. That is why solutions designed for BES2 do not work on the Kiox 300. You need a code designed for BES3.

The dedicated Smart System code

For eBikes with the Smart System (Kiox 300, Purion 200 and BES3 components) there is a specific code, different from the one for Gen 1–4 systems:

  • Designed for the Smart System (BES3) architecture
  • Two selectable modes: up to 32 km/h with the real speed on the display, or up to 45 km/h with a halved display reading
  • Reversible at any time
  • Instant delivery by e-mail with a step-by-step guide, activation via USB-C cable

Before you buy: check compatibility

Check for free with the Velocodix app, or write to us at info@velocodix.it attaching:

  • a photo of the Kiox 300 display,
  • a photo of the charging port (oval magnetic),
  • the brand, model and year of the bike.

That way we confirm compatibility with your component and you avoid buying the wrong thing. Digital codes are not refundable once delivered, so it is worth asking first.

Kiox 300 or the old Kiox? Take care not to mix them up

There is also the first-generation Kiox, which belongs to the BES2 systems (round port) and requires the Bosch Gen 1–4 code. The Kiox 300, on the other hand, is Smart System (oval magnetic port). This distinction is decisive: get the system wrong and you get the code wrong. The charging port is always the giveaway.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I have a Kiox 300 Smart System?
Colour display, oval magnetic charging port and the Bosch Flow app.

Will the Bosch Gen 1–4 code do?
No: the Kiox 300 (BES3) requires the dedicated Smart System code. The two are not interchangeable.

Can I still update my Bosch eBike?
Yes. Unlike Segway Ninebot scooters, on the Smart System Bosch updates can be carried out as normal.

Does any hardware need fitting?
No. Activation happens via USB-C cable, with no chip and no mechanical work. Chips fitted to the sensor do not work on the Smart System: they cause a magnetic reading error.

Is delivery instant?
Yes, you receive the code by e-mail with the guide immediately after purchase.

In short

The Kiox 300 is the display of the Bosch Smart System (BES3). Recognise it by the oval magnetic port and the Bosch Flow app, use the dedicated BES3 code and check compatibility before ordering.
