Segway Ninebot ZT3 Pro: Come Configurare la Velocità Massima 2026

Segway Ninebot ZT3 Pro: How to Configure the Top Speed 2026

Segway Ninebot's most powerful scooter, still limited to 25 km/h

The Segway Ninebot ZT3 Pro sits right at the top of the range for 2026. A brushless motor with 1600W peak output, twin telescopic front suspension, 11-inch tubeless off-road tyres and a range of up to 70 km: a machine built for riders who don't want to compromise.

And yet, like every model sold in Europe, it leaves the factory with an electronic limit of 25 km/h on the standard version — or 20 km/h on the Italian version (ZT3 Pro I), in line with local road regulations.

In this guide you'll find how advanced configuration works, what you can set, and which firmware versions are confirmed on the ZT3 series.

⚠️ ZT3 series: check your firmware version

On the ZT3 series, compatibility depends on the firmware version of the Vehicle Controller, and it doesn't follow a progressive order: one version may work, the next one may not, and the one after that may work again. That's why the exact version is what matters, not whether it's newer or older.

  • Confirmed working: v1.5.5, v1.5.6, v1.5.15, v1.6.2
  • Confirmed NOT working: v1.5.9
  • To be verified: every version not listed here, including v1.5.7 and v1.5.8

If your version is among the confirmed ones, you can go ahead with confidence. If it isn't, check before you buy: look it up with the free Velocodix app (one minute, no sign-up needed) or write to us at info@velocodix.it with your model and firmware version — a screenshot works perfectly. We'll confirm where your scooter stands before you spend a cent. Remember that the digital code is non-refundable once delivered.

🔴 The general rule applies here too: do not run any update from the Segway-Ninebot app, either before or after installing the code. It's the most common cause of configurations that stop working, and on the ZT3 it can move you onto a version that isn't compatible.

Why the ZT3 Pro is limited and what it can really do

The limit isn't a physical constraint of the motor: it's a software choice imposed by Segway to comply with European regulations on public road use.

The specs show the potential:

  • Brushless motor: 500W nominal / 1600W peak
  • Range: up to 70 km in Eco mode
  • Battery: 597 Wh
  • Suspension: twin telescopic front + rear spring
  • Tyres: 11-inch tubeless all-terrain
  • Brakes: twin disc, front and rear
  • BMS 2.0 system and Apple Find My compatibility

Hardware chip or digital code?

Hardware chip — not recommended

Some online shops sell physical chips to be wired into the scooter. The problems are very real: they require physically working on the vehicle with a risk of damaging the electronics, they void the warranty immediately and permanently, they aren't easy to reverse and they can become unusable after an update.

Digital code over Bluetooth — recommended

The Velocodix code never touches the hardware: it talks to the controller over Bluetooth and changes the internal configuration settings. No physical modification, an entirely digital procedure, reversible by entering the code again, instant delivery by e-mail with full instructions and technical support throughout the process.

How to activate it

  1. Buy the code on velocodix.it: you receive it straight away by e-mail together with the activation guide. If you don't see it, check your spam folder.
  2. Prepare the scooter: turn on Bluetooth, fully close the Segway-Ninebot app (including in the background), switch on the ZT3 Pro and make sure it's connected to one device only.
  3. Open the activation tool indicated in the guide, using Google Chrome on Android, Windows or macOS, or the free Bluefy app on iPhone and iPad.
  4. Connect and enter the code, then set your own personal button combination.
  5. Start the flash and wait for it to finish without interrupting the connection. Stay close to the scooter and, if the connection is unstable, use mobile data instead of Wi-Fi.
  6. Every time you switch on, enter your button combination within 30 seconds to activate advanced mode. A beep confirms activation.

What you can configure

Speed and performance: top speed configurable beyond the factory 25 km/h, a standard profile and an advanced profile with different speeds, and adjustable throttle response.

Safety and comfort:

  • Cruise control: while riding, hold the M button until you hear the beep and the icon appears on the display
  • Zero start: pull away from a standstill without kick-starting
  • Panic button: instantly reduces speed by holding the dedicated button for 3 seconds

Lights: rear light behaviour under braking, automatic headlight based on ambient light, and rear light with a breathing effect while charging.

The ZT3 Pro versions

ZT3 Pro — international standard version, limited to 25 km/h
ZT3 Pro I — Italian version, limited to 20 km/h
ZT3 Pro D — German version, limited to 20 km/h

The difference between the versions is software only: the underlying hardware is identical. What really matters is the firmware version, which is independent of the variant.

Frequently asked questions

How fast does the ZT3 Pro go with the code?
It depends on the settings you choose in the configuration panel. With the advanced profile active, the ZT3 Pro can go significantly beyond the factory limit, making use of the 1600W peak motor.

Does the code work on the ZT3 Pro D (German version)?
Yes, with the confirmed firmware versions listed above. On the German version you can also fit the original Segway ambient LED lamp: with the Velocodix software, on/off control happens directly from the Segway app.

Can I use the code on an iPhone?
Yes, through the free Bluefy app available on the App Store. On Android, Windows and macOS you use Google Chrome.

Does the code expire?
No. Once installed on the controller it's permanent and stays tied to the scooter, not to your smartphone.

What happens if I update the firmware?
Don't do it. An update can disable the configuration and, on the ZT3 series, can move you onto a version where the code can't be activated — such as v1.5.9. If you've already updated, don't try things at random: write to us at info@velocodix.it stating your model and current firmware version.

Legal note

The Velocodix advanced configuration code for the Segway Ninebot ZT3 Pro is intended exclusively for use on private land or otherwise away from public road traffic. In Italy and across the European Union, electric scooters used on public roads must comply with the speed limits set by the regulations in force. The user is always responsible for complying with local laws.

In short

The ZT3 Pro is the most capable scooter in the Segway Ninebot range, and the digital code is the simplest, reversible way to configure it without touching the hardware. The one step you shouldn't skip is checking the firmware version.
